भारत को आजाद हुए 75 वर्ष हो चुके हैं. देश में आजादी का अमृतकाल मनाया जा रहा है, लेकिन आज भी झारखंड का एक गांव ऐसा है, जहां लोग आदिम युग की तरह लकड़ी जलाकर रात में उजाला करते हैं. बोकारो जिले के इस गांव में आज भी बिजली नहीं पहुंच पायी है. बोकारो जिले के गोमिया प्रखंड की सियारी पंचायत के सुदूरवर्ती संताली बहुल गांव असनापानी के लोगों के घर आज भी बिजली नहीं पहुंची. इसी गांव से 10 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर तेनुघाट थर्मल पावर स्टेशन (टीटीपीएस) है. इस विद्युत परियोजना में बिजली का उत्पादन होता है और उससे पूरा झारखंड रोशन हो रहा है. लेकिन, असनापानी के ग्रामीण आज भी ढिबरी और लकड़ी की रोशनी में रातें काट रहे हैं. लकड़ी जलाकर रातों में उजाला करने के लिए मजबूर हैं.
